Music Venues in Derby

Derby has a great music life.

Here at Singing Lessons Derby we really encourage our singing students to go and watch as many live bands as they can, it is a fantastic way to learn the dynamics of how singers perform live.

We also passionately support local bands and to help them along we have drawn together a list of some of the best music venues in Derby local bands should check out when starting gigging. So in no order...

The Venue, Derby

The Venue, Derby is an awesome music venue showing off the best local acts and national bands as they tour. With the likes of the Foals, Ash, Rebel Territory (pictured!) and many many more learning their trade on The Venue's stage up and coming local bands should be knocking the door down to get a gig supporting these bands here. Located at 47 - 49 Abbey Street, DE22 3SJ you should certainly get yourself to a few gigs here, the bands are quality. See you in the front row.

Pride Park

Pride Park is a massive 32,000 capacity music venue that has seen the likes of Red Hot Chili Peppers and Rod Steward rock massive audiences. While it might be a little large to fill as a local band it is well worth keeping your eye on who is playing here as they will be the superstars of international fame. A fantastic venue to watch the likes of Chili Peppers no doubt we will be seeing another huge band in town soon.

The Hairy Dog

Located at 1 Becket St, Derby DE1 1HT, The Hair Dog is a great independent music venue based in Derby. The venue was originally opened in 2012 & has since become a strong cog in the UK touring circuit for a wide range of acts. he Hairy Dog has made a name for itself having played host to bands such as Slaves, Sleaford Mods, The Blockheads, Cockney Rejects, Old Firm Casuals, UK Subs, Suburban Legends, Unearth, Shadows Fall, The Acacia Strain and many many more. It has both a main bar and a 400 capacity venue making it one of the driving forces in the music scene in Derby.

Blacksmiths Lounge

Blacksmiths lounge might be known for being a cocktail bar but it is also a great small place for live music now and again. They regularly host open mic nights and acoustic nights which always seem to draw decent crowds. They also offer a wide range of food, wines, draught beers & craft beers for everyone to enjoy thier evening.
